Individual counselling offers a person a process whereby they can explore or resolve issues and difficulties in relationship with a qualified counsellor. The skills of the counsellor offer the individual acceptance, respect and empathy in order to allow the person to delve into a range of feelings, thoughts and behaviour in confidence and without fear of judgement or prejudice.
These issues may be sensitive or challenging situations, or situations that appear unable to be resolved and may cause deep distress.
Confidentiality
Counselling takes place in a private and confidential setting that is conducive to bringing hope in difficult situations.
The training, skills and experience of a qualified counsellor enable you to increase the clarity and reduce the level of confusion that surrounds your situation. Through counselling you may find you have more choices about the way ahead.

Working through the issues
Emotional distress can be debilitating. Often people find they can’t cope with everyday life and are unable to function as they once did.
Counselling can help people become aware of what is going on for them and find a way through the confusion.
A Note for Men
Men are sometimes reluctant to seek out support for themselves when they are experiencing emotional difficulties. They sometimes feel they should be able to cope and don’t want to be seen as weak.
However, when men do take the step of finding a counsellor they often find it invaluable and pivotal in helping them regain their coping strategies.
